today i met with Gustav for lunch, met a new library, and met some inspiration. saw an exhibition by Jens Olof Lasthein... and i ended up going back a second time to take a longer look. i love his composition. LOVE. the kind of love that sneaks up on you.. it snuck up on me. sneaked.

i miss my studio.

these are two of the pieces that i´m sure about turning in. both from my class last summer. the top one is of my parents that i drew for my final assignment - which was to do a baroque. the bottom one was a two hour in-class pose. both 18 x 24"

glad påsk! happy easter! He is risen!

lesson 1 in becoming a swede: complain about the weather! - mostly for the rain. you'll fit right in!

i found the following video on SwedesPlease.net -made by the members of a band called The Social Services. a good view of where i am everyday. if you come visit we'll play this game :)

i´m alive! even though it may not have seemed that way for the past month.. a month almost? already? right now i´m at my sister´s apartment, putting off sleep - like i do best..

the last month has been an interesting one. it took a while for me to really FEEL the transition, until i hit a couple rough weeks. i have a love/hate relationship with my schedule. tons of free time plus my fledgling social circuit equals way more space than i´m used to. i like downtime, but the hardest part has mostly been not being connected anywhere. this is changing though. things are getting better all the time (hmm hmm hmmm...hmmm hmm hmm hmmm (modern english (i´ll stop the world and melt with you...))) the last week and half have been on the up.

God is working on my heart in ways i don´t think i would´ve/could´ve let him before. healing. one day at a time... i love the way the body of Christ works... i have family even here! i can move to another side of the planet and meet people who share the same love for the Lord - and feel connected. it´s amazing.. i´ve been having to work on sundays a lot, but i realized i just have to make it happen if i want to find a church. so the last couple sundays i´ve made time to tag along with cousins to their fellowships. it´s been really refreshing. there are a few more i want to check out.

this weekend was full of hopping from one thing to another,.. bowling with Erik and friends, dvds and crashing with new friend Christina, fika with Therese, dinner at Gustaf and Åsa´s, learning new trains and buses (running after them with Philip (legs are so sore)), church with Therese, dinner with Ingela. tomorrow morning i´m meeting my aunt Helene. go go go! and my kids are leaving for Dubai this friday, to visit their dad. they´ll be gone for two weeks! (hallelujah) so i might travel down south to Trosa.

so, i guess i´m just trying to perfect my balancing act of being busy and chillaxin. but maybe that´s true for all of life.. for all of us. yeah? one day at a time.

oh yeah! my application to the school has to be in by April 1st.. so i need to choose 5 pieces to turn in. i think i´m sure on 3 so far. so hard to narrow down. i was stressing out about it all for a little while (especially during those two down weeks) ...but not anymore. whatever will be will be. sing it! i´ll post pictures later of the pieces i choose.

becoming less of a tourist with my camera.
but this is from a lunch with Lasse, Helene and Cirre (weeks ago). their home is a dream:
