images from the last week! met my cousin Therese for lunch in Gamla Stan. met with the head of conservation at the royal library for lunch and got a tour of their beautiful studio! then had coffee and chocolate with some of the art restorers at the modern art museum (moderna museet) in their studio! spent the weekend at my cousin Gustaf's house laying with his beautiful kids... on tuesday i went to an open house at the art school i'm interested in.. and fell even more in love with it...

yesterday i went on a 3 hour walk downtown. i wore the wrong shoes. along the way, i fell in love. i fell in love with the campus of an art school called Kungl. Konsthögskolan (The Royal University College of Fine Arts). did some research and found out they accept around 25 people each year out of roughly 800 applicants. i'm going to apply! say some prayers for me? click this for a full size version of the panorama.

i was sick all this last week. home sick and a little homesick. spent a few days resting alone, and later stayed over at ingela's to rest with her. she's been sick too. but friday things picked up - with some more energy, met Maria for lunch in Östermalm (fancy part of town). i stopped by the huge library to ask about book binderies in the area - to see who does book restoration... no answers! but i got a name - so i have to go back monday to dig a little more. other news: a painting apprenticeship opportunity has popped up! - with the wife of a father of a friend of a friend. and i'm applying to konstfack to start in the fall. i'm not sure if that's what i want to do - but it can't hurt to apply.

Emelie and i went into Gamla Stan (the old city) yesterday. we bought tickets to see the tre kronor museum and some of the royal apartments in the palace. we found and had lunch in the loveliest cafe, shopped around and later met up with Andrea and Amie for fika.

i've been taking long walks in the woods! behind my neighborhood. woods that people didn't plant. woods that were here before people. i can't wait to see it in the spring...

yesterday i signed myself back into Sweden. so it's official now: i'm a Swede again! government paid education - here i come!
